Monday — Cancún/Riviera Maya to Tulum’s cliff-top coastal ruins overlooking the turquoise Caribbean. Continue to Kohunlich — home to remarkable stucco mask temples and an ancient ball court. Overnight in the Xpuhil/Chicanna area, deep in the Calakmul Biosphere Reserve.
Tulum sits at the edge of land and sea, where the Maya built their temples facing the rising sun. It is a place of liminal energy — between worlds, between self and sky.
Tuesday — Becán archaeological zone — a moat-surrounded Maya city of extraordinary engineering. Misol-Há waterfall with the opportunity to swim in its natural pools. Continue south through the jungle to Palenque. Overnight in Palenque.
Water has always been sacred to the Maya — Misol-Há’s cascades carry the memory of ceremony and renewal. Allow yourself to be cleansed by its mist.
Wednesday — Full morning immersion at Palenque archaeological zone — deep in the Chiapas jungle. The Temple of Inscriptions, royal tombs, the Palace, howler monkeys calling from the canopy above. An afternoon’s drive brings you to the walled colonial city of Campeche. Overnight in Campeche.
Palenque is widely regarded as one of the most spiritually charged archaeological sites in all of Mesoamerica. The jungle here seems to breathe with ancient memory.
Thursday — Edzná archaeological zone — a five-story pyramid with extraordinary astronomical alignment and significance. Continue to Uxmal, the Puuc architectural masterpiece with its incredible mosaic stone facades. Arrive in Mérida for the evening. Overnight in Mérida.
The Edzná pyramid was designed so that on specific ceremonial dates, light and shadow create a perfect illuminated face on the stone. Ancient wisdom encoded in architecture.
Friday — The final destination: Chichén Itzá — one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. The Temple of Kukulcán, the Sacred Cenote, the Ball Game court. Return journey to Cancún/Riviera Maya.
You end this journey at one of Earth’s most powerful sacred sites. Carry what you’ve felt across five days — the stones, the jungle, the silence — back into your daily life.
